iXBRL tagging for startups filing their first accounts
Your first CT600 and first Companies House filing shouldn't need you to learn taxonomy mapping. Send us your accounts, we tag them correctly, you file on time.
First filings are where most avoidable mistakes happen
If this is your company's first year, you're managing two separate deadlines you've never faced before — Companies House accounts (typically 21 months from incorporation for your very first filing) and your first CT600 to HMRC — often without an in-house finance team yet.
No free HMRC route left
HMRC's own basic filing service has closed. Every company — including first-time filers — now needs commercial software or a service like ours.
Investors expect it done right
Rejected or incorrectly tagged filings show up on your company record. Getting it right first time matters more than most founders realise.
You have better things to do
Founder time in the first 18 months is the most valuable resource you have. Tagging your own accounts isn't the best use of it.

Frequently asked questions
Is our very first accounts deadline really 21 months from incorporation?
Generally yes — a company's first Companies House accounts are typically due 21 months from incorporation, a different rule from the standard 9-month-from-year-end deadline that applies afterwards. See our when to file guide.
We haven't started trading yet — do we still need to file?
Yes — Companies House accounts are due regardless of trading activity, and if HMRC has issued a notice to deliver a Company Tax Return, a CT600 is due too, even at nil. See our dormant companies page.
What if we're not sure which tagging tier we need?
Send your draft accounts over and we'll tell you which tier applies and quote a fixed price — that assessment is free and comes with no obligation.
